NYTimes: Post-Transplant and Off Drugs, H.I.V. Patients Are Apparently Virus-Free

From The New York Times:

Mutation of protein on the surface of CD4 Lymphocytes makes them imperious to the aids virus. The HIV binds to a surface protein (or door) and then enters the cell. The surface protein is called the CCR5 receptor.

Post-Transplant and Off Drugs, H.I.V. Patients Are Apparently Virus-Free

Two H.I.V.-infected patients who had bone-marrow transplants for blood cancers have apparently been virus-free since they stopped taking antiretroviral drugs.
